FAQs

Q: What type of cable is the AOC-Q-Q-100G-20M?
A: It is a 100GbE QSFP28-to-QSFP28 active optical cable, 20m in length, with the optics permanently integrated into both connector ends.

Q: Can I use this cable to connect two 100G QSFP28 ports?
A: Yes. Both ends are QSFP28, so it links a 100G QSFP28 port on one device directly to a 100G QSFP28 port on another.

Q: Does it need separate transceivers?
A: No. The optical engines are built into the cable ends, so no separate optics or fibre patch cables are needed.

Q: What is the maximum power draw?
A: Maximum power consumption is 3.5W per 100G QSFP AOC.

Q: How does this 20m cable differ from other lengths in the range?
A: The electrical and optical design is the same across the 100GBASE-AOC family. Only the cable length differs, and this SKU is the 20m option.
