Description

This 3m 400G active optical cable is pre-terminated with QSFP-DD connectors on both ends and carries 400GbE over 850nm multimode fibre. It suits short links within and between racks in data centre environments, removing the need for separate optics or fibre patching. The 3m length makes it well suited to adjacent-rack and top-of-rack runs, and it sits alongside the other lengths available in the same 400G AOC range.

Enquire with XS Network Tech for new or used pricing and availability.

FAQs

Q: What connectors does this cable use?
A: It has a QSFP-DD connector on each end in a straight-through configuration, so it links two QSFP-DD ports directly.

Q: What data rate and fibre type does it support?
A: It supports 400GbE using 8 x 50G PAM4 lanes over 850nm multimode fibre, in the 400GBASE-AOC SR8 class.

Q: What is the maximum power draw?
A: Arista 400G QSFP-DD AOCs are rated at a maximum of 12W per end.

Q: What EOS version is required?
A: The minimum supported EOS version is 4.23.0.

Q: Can this cable connect an OSFP port to a QSFP-DD port?
A: No. This is a QSFP-DD to QSFP-DD cable. OSFP-to-OSFP equivalents are a separate part number family.
