Description

The Meraki Z3 is a cloud-managed teleworker gateway from the Meraki Z Series, built for home offices and small remote sites that need secure, always-on connectivity back to the corporate network. It extends the company LAN to the remote worker over auto-VPN and is designed for five clients or fewer.

This wired-only variant has one Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 WAN port and four Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 LAN ports, with one LAN port supplying 802.3af PoE for a phone or other device. A dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi 5 access point with four internal dipole antennas covers the remote user's wireless needs, and a USB 2.0 port is fitted. Firewall throughput is 100 Mbps and VPN throughput is 50 Mbps. The Z3-HW SKU does not include a Meraki licence, which is required to operate the gateway and manage it from the dashboard.

The Z3 works with Meraki MX security appliances as the VPN concentrator or headend for auto-VPN, and is managed entirely through the Meraki cloud dashboard with zero-touch provisioning. The Z3C sibling adds cellular, while this model is wired only.
