Description

This Juniper QFX series SFP+ transceiver carries 8 Gbps Fibre Channel over multimode fibre. It uses an 850 nm short-wave laser with a duplex LC connector, making it suited to SAN and storage connectivity in data centres where runs are short.

The module supports 8GFC at an 8.5 Gbps line rate and reaches up to 150 m over OM3 multimode fibre. It uses a VCSEL transmitter and a PIN photodiode receiver, draws less than 1 W from a 3.3 V supply, and operates from 0 to 70 C. Digital optical monitoring is supported through the host port, so link power and temperature can be checked in service.

It is designed for Juniper QFX series switches with SFP+ ports that support Fibre Channel optics. Use OM3 or better multimode fibre terminated with duplex LC connectors.
