Description

The MX MPC2E-3D-Q is an Enhanced Modular Port Concentrator line card for the Juniper MX Series. It is aimed at service provider and enterprise edge routing deployments that need hierarchical QoS and high queue scale alongside Layer 2 and Layer 2.5 services.

The card provides two MIC slots and is built on two Trio chipsets. As the Q Enhanced Queuing variant, it adds per-IFL hierarchical QoS with 256K queues, with a maximum of 128K on egress. It supports full-scale Layer 2 and Layer 2.5 features and reduced-scale Layer 3 features, so it suits edge roles where traffic shaping and subscriber or service differentiation matter more than full-scale routing tables.

The two MIC slots accept a range of Modular Interface Cards, letting you choose the Ethernet interface mix that suits each deployment. The card is used in MX240, MX480 and MX960 chassis.
