Description

This Arista passive twinax copper breakout cable connects a single 400G QSFP-DD port to four 100G QSFP ports. It suits short data-centre links such as top-of-rack to server or leaf connections, where a low-cost copper option is preferred over optics.

The 400GBASE-CR8 QSFP-DD end splits into four 100GBASE-CR2 links over a 2.5 m run. It is a direct attach copper cable with a QSFP-DD connector on one end and four QSFP connectors on the other. Being passive, it needs no separate power supply, and no licence or subscription is required.

It connects QSFP-DD 400G ports to QSFP 100G ports and belongs to Arista's 400G QSFP-DD twinax copper range, which also includes QSFP-DD to QSFP-DD, 2x200G and 8x50G variants. Platform support is listed in Arista's Transceiver and Cable Guide.
