Description

This Arista 400G active optical cable is a pre-terminated 400GBASE-AOC with QSFP-DD connectors on both ends. It is built for straight-through 400G switch-to-switch links in data centres, such as leaf-to-spine connections, at distances of up to 25m.

The cable runs over 850nm multi-mode fibre and is 25m long, which is the point that separates it from other lengths in the same family, which runs from 1m to 30m. Maximum power draw is 12W, supplied by the host QSFP-DD port, so no separate power source is needed. It is hot swappable, with an operating case temperature of 0 to 70 C, and complies with the QSFP-DD MSA and IEEE 802.3.

It is intended for 400G QSFP-DD ports on Arista switches. The same cable family also exists as OSFP to OSFP, and breakout and QSFP112 active optical cables are separate part numbers that are not interchangeable with this one.
