Description

This Arista passive twinax copper breakout cable connects a single 200G QSFP-DD port to four QSFP endpoints. The QSFP-DD end carries 200GBASE-CR8 over eight electrical lanes, and the breakout end splits into four QSFP legs, each running 50GBASE-CR2 over two lanes. It suits short intra-rack and adjacent-rack links in data centres, where one switch port needs to fan out to four 50G devices.

At 1 metre in length, the cable is a passive copper design with no active electronics and no external power supply. A pull tab release makes removal straightforward, and the hot-swappable pluggable form factor lets you connect or replace it without taking the switch offline.

The cable requires Arista EOS 4.23.0 or later. It is intended for Arista QSFP-DD ports that support 200G breakout to QSFP ports operating at 50G with two lanes. It belongs to Arista's 200G and 400G QSFP-DD twinax copper cable family, which also includes 2 m and 2.5 m lengths.
