Description

Ultra-short breakout active optical cable that splits a single 100G QSFP28 port into four 25G SFP28 ports for in-chassis or adjacent rack connections. Implements 100GBASE-SR4 on the QSFP28 end and 25GBASE-SR on each SFP28 leg, providing simple, standards-based interoperability with minimal cabling bulk. Ideal for tidy TOR fan-outs and lab setups at just 1 meter, with typical 3.5W power on the QSFP28 end.

Features

- Compact 1m length to reduce slack and improve airflow
- 1x100G to 4x25G fan-out for dense server attachment
- Standards-based SR optics ensure reliable 25G links
- Integrated optics require no separate transceivers
- Low power (~3.5W QSFP28 end) and low latency
- Optical isolation for strong EMI immunity
- Ideal for neat, short-hop data center cabling

FAQs

Q: Why choose a 1m breakout AOC?
A: It minimizes slack and clutter for adjacent devices or within the same rack, maintaining neat cable management.

Q: Do the SFP28 legs operate independently?
A: Yes. Each SFP28 leg provides an independent 25G link to a compatible 25G port.

Q: Can this cable be used with non-Juniper devices?
A: It is intended for Juniper platforms; interoperability with other vendors is not guaranteed.

Q: Is additional configuration needed to enable breakout?
A: Some platforms require enabling QSFP28 breakout mode; consult the device’s interface configuration.

Q: What environments is this cable best suited for?
A: Short, high-density connections such as TOR fan-outs, lab benches, or side-by-side chassis.
