Description

This single-port Gigabit PoE injector sends power and data to a connected device over one Ethernet cable, so no separate power cabling is needed at the device. It is aimed at powering Meraki access points and other 802.3af PoE devices where no PoE switch port is available or where running power cabling is difficult.

The injector is IEEE 802.3af compliant and supplies up to 15.4W of PoE output. Data passes at 10/100/1000 Mbit/s full duplex, and the connected device can sit up to 100m from the injector. It has one LAN data-in port and one PoE out port. Over-voltage, over-current and short-circuit protection is built in, and power, load and fault LEDs make diagnosis straightforward. This version is the AU plug variant and connects directly to Australian mains outlets.

Because output is limited to 15.4W, it suits devices that need 802.3af. Devices that require 802.3at or 802.3bt need a higher-power injector. No licence is required for the injector itself.
