Description

The Juniper MIC-3D-4CHOC3-2CHOC12 is a channelized SONET/SDH Modular Interface Card for the MX Series. It suits service-provider and WAN edge deployments that still need TDM connectivity, such as legacy leased lines, Frame Relay and PPP links, and multilink aggregation.

The card has 4 SFP ports that are rate-selectable, running either as 4x OC3/STM1 or as 2x OC12/STM4. Channelization covers OC3, DS3, DS1, DS0, E3 and E1. Each port has its own SONET/SDH framing, local and remote loopback, and optical diagnostics and monitoring. Clocking can be internal or external/loop timing, and the MTU reaches 9192 bytes. The MIC draws 4.56 A at 9 V (41 W) from the chassis, weighs 4.4 lb (2 kg) and requires Junos OS Release 11.4 or later.

It installs in MPCs with MIC slots and is supported on the MX240, MX480, MX960, MX2008, MX2010 and MX2020, as well as MX5, MX10, MX40 and MX80-class routers. MICs that use multilink services need a Multiservices DPC in the same router.
